Advent Memories

In 2010, my son was two. That meant he was old enough to participate for real during Advent, and so, we began our Advent traditions.

During Advent and Christmas, we go through old things and cull out what we no longer need.

This year, we found our first Advent calendar. Made from paper covered toilet paper rolls, it graced our table.

Filled with candy, it was an irresistible temptation for my toddler boy. Today, it is a first memory for him. He asked me to put it in the “remembery” box, but if we put everything in there he wants to save, there’d be no room at the inn for us. And so, we say a hearty “bye” to it today. But the wonderful Advent memories will always be there! Merry Christmas!
